Melton Building Society enters limited company buy to let mortgage market
From 11th May 2026 the Society will be offering a range of fixed and discounted products to limited company landlords
Melton Building Society have announced its entry into the limited company buy to let market, broadening its lending portfolio to support a wider range of property investors.
The Society have adapted their mortgage range to support the growing numbers of landlords becoming incorporated and recognise the importance of supporting those who have pursued this avenue as part of their long term property portfolio planning.
These changes have been made in order to better serve intermediaries, brokers, and landlords seeking reliable, transparent mortgage solutions in a rapidly evolving property market.
The new range, which consists of 6 brand new products, features a blend of 2 and 5 year discounted and fixed products. They are all offered at 75% LTV and benefit from low fees (£250 application fee, and 1% completion fee). They are available for both standard and holiday lets. A complex product range is also available for nonstandard residential properties including blocks of flats, multiple units and multiple properties on the same loan.
The launch follows the Societies decision late last year to redefine its criteria in relation to portfolio landlords. The Society will now accept portfolio landlords;
- Who have a maximum of five properties with Melton Building Society up to a maximum value of £5 million
- On properties within England and Wales
- With an average LTV across their portfolio of 75% LTV
- With no maximum number of properties and property value across their entire portfolio
“Our entry into the limited company buy to let space reflects both market demand and our ambition to help a broader range of investors” said Jamie Hyland, Head of Product and Marketing at Melton Building Society.
“We’ve already introduced a number of developments across our mortgage product range so far this year, and we aim to continue to evolve our product range to offer brokers, and their client’s products that suit the complexities of the ever changing property landscape. We recognise the complexities that come with being a property investor in today’s market, and with our limited company buy to let product range we hope to offer flexibility, competitive pricing, and a straightforward application process.”
More details of the current product range at the Melton are available on their website themeltonbrokers.co.uk or by contacting the sales team on 01664 414144.
